Starting Yoga is a wonderful gift to give yourself and I am here to support you and assist in the development of your own practice both physical and mental.

It’s important to remember that Yoga is for EVERYONE!

That means everyone from children through to older people. Yoga in it’s essence is more than just a physical practice, however your practice will start on the mat.

There are many styles of yoga available nowadays, you may have tried yoga before and felt it is not for you – I would encourage you to try different styles and different teachers until you find the one that fits with you.

Through my classes I provide quality teaching in a nurturing environment to accommodate for individual students needs. I work with hands-on adjustments to keep you safe and encourage the development of your postures. My classes integrate the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of yoga with a focus on breath awareness and deep relaxation.

As your teacher, my primary focus is to help you to establish a solid foundation for your yoga practice – developing self-awareness, awareness of others and a profound release of body and mind.

What should I wear?

Wear clothing that allow you to move freely in.

Bring a sweater/shawl and socks for the final relaxation.

What else do I need to know?

  • It’s advisable not to eat 3 hours before a yoga class, this can prove difficult to fit in with busy lives so if you need to eat something make it a light snack and not within the hour before class.
  • It is best not to drink water during the class. Come well hydrated and it is best to leave drinking anything (ideally water) until about 15 minutes after class.
  • Tell me if you have any long-standing or fresh injuries which may affect you during the class. This will also help me to provide alternative postures/variations for any movements that prove uncomfortable/unsafe for you.
  • If you have any concerns and are not sure if Yoga is suitable for you it is advisable to consult your GP in addition to calling me for a confidential chat to air any of your queries.
